The Beginning of Digg
Share
Digg It Vintage began with Taoufik’s unrelenting passion for unearthing unique fashion from the past, a passion sparked during his days as a breakdancer and animation student in Southeast Asia. Back then, he was all about scoring standout gear on a shoestring budget. Hip-hop culture and iconic brands like Fubu, Ecko, Kangol, and Pro-Keds heavily influenced his style, pushing him to dig deep into industrial areas and rag houses for hidden vintage treasures—even when cash was tight.
In 2016, Taoufik decided to turn this love for vintage fashion into a reality. He launched Digg It Vintage in Singapore and Malaysia, but the journey didn’t end there. Driven by his vision of bringing vintage cool to new places, Taoufik set his sights on Dubai, where the vintage scene was virtually non-existent. Armed with a trunk full of finds from his mom’s Kia Sportage, he hit the streets of Dubai, and it wasn’t long before local artists and athletes began to take notice of his unique style and eye for rare pieces.
The journey of Digg It Vintage in Dubai was a team effort, deeply rooted in family and friendship. Taoufik’s siblings, Youssef and Ghizlane, joined him as partners, bringing their own passion and energy into the mix. Together with the invaluable support of close friends the vision for Digg It Vintage flourished. Their support and dedication transformed Digg It Vintage from a grassroots hustle into a thriving venture.
By 2020, this incredible support network culminated in the launch of diggvintage.com, marking Dubai's first dedicated vintage and thrift store. This milestone was not just a personal achievement for Taoufik but a collective victory for everyone who believed in the dream.
